"In His Image" is a contemporary gospel singing group made up of four brothers and sisters. The oldest of the siblings - Rodney Alan Brown Jr. - was born March 3, 1985 and sings baritone/bass. Danayshiya Alanaya Brown (a.k.a. Nayshi) sings soprano and was born on August 21, 1986. Deanna Jinee' Brown - the baby girl of the family - sings tenor. She was born on August 31, 1988. Adam Jeremy Brown - the youngest member of the group - born September 26, 1990 - sings a strong piping alto.
The group was formed by their mother - Kathie D. Brown - in 1991. She was inspired by her husband - Rodney A. Brown Sr. - who had been writing and singing his own music for many years. Kathie believed that there was a lack of ministry in the music that was geared toward young people, so she began writing music with the hope of blessing primarily the young. As the group and their music matured, their listening audience broadened. It was during this time that their father - Rodney Sr. - began writing for the group.
At the onset of the group, Deanna was 3, Nayshi was 5, and Rodney was 7 years old. Adam was a mere babe, but he also took to the stage - standing, staring, and singing what he knew at the tender age of 1. Their singing journey began at their home church - The Clearlake Seventh - Day Adventist Church in Clearlake, California. Since then they've performed before thousands of people from many different walks of life. Their community became more aware of them when they took first place in a local talent show. They've also done radio, television and graced the front pages of many newspapers. In His Image has sung for youth enrichment programs, county fundraisers, cultural events, community events, and a host of churches too numerous to count.
The siblings have always been involved in music. Being homeschooled by mom allowed them lots of musical activities in the course of a normal school day. Both sisters are accomplished pianists, and the brothers enjoy playing keyboards.
As the second coming of Christ draws near, In His Image desires that the Lord will use them to draw men, women, boys, and girls no matter what their race, color or backround into the saving power of God. |
